Tequesta is a much a state of mind as a place.  Much of what is referred to as Tequesta is not in the Village of Tequesta. Parts of what is colloquially called "Tequesta" are in Martin County and parts are in Palm Beach County.  Parts of Tequesta are in the Village of Tequesta, parts are in the Town of Jupiter and some are in unincorporated Palm Beach County.  The post office says that Tequesta is Jupiter FL 33469. 

Despite this mish mash, Tequesta is different from Jupiter, the rest of Palm Beach County and the rest of Martin County.  It runs the gamut from exclusive Jupiter Island to small condos for seniors.  One of the keys to understanding Tequesta is that there is no more room for expansion.  "What you see" is Tequesta, unlike so much of Florida where what you see today is something else tomorrow.  While there are some high rise condo's on the Jupiter Island section of Tequesta, mostly Tequesta FL homes for sale are  one and 2 story buildings.  There is a strong arts presence in Tequesta, miles and miles of Intracoastal waterways, and from the part of Tequesta on Jupiter Island, the Atlantic Ocean.
